OUR STORY
We are a full-service salon, spa and bar in the heart of downtown Winnipeg.
Loft owners Danielle and Brittney first met while working at a salon nearly 12 years ago. Discovering many shared interests, motivations and goals in life, they couldn’t help but become good friends.
Though Danielle and Brittney went on to work at different salons over the years, they remained close. They returned to school together and enrolled at the Asper School of Business while continuing to work behind the chair. Here they each received double majors in entrepreneurship/small business and international business.
Danielle and Brittney purchased The Loft in 2021 and became its new owners, combining their passions for hair and small business. Since the transition, the salon has undergone extensive renovations to create an updated modern look, while respecting the historic characteristics of the building. Their team and their customers continue to inspire their dreams.
OUR MISSION
We go above and beyond to make each and every guest leave The Loft feeling great. We love to keep up with the latest beauty trends and we are wild about education. Catching up with our clients, having fun and making people feel fabulous is our passion.
We put our heart and soul into the salon. We are motivated every day to build and maintain a collaborative, educational and welcoming environment.
FORMER LIFE
Built in1910, the building has a long history. It was first the Hudson’s Bay Company Mail Order Building and then the Rice Knitting Company. It was converted into military barracks in 1939 and underwent exterior renovations in 1989 when it became a salon. It was first, and most memorably, known as Sets on Fort. In early 2015, the salon was purchased by a long-time stylist who renamed the salon The Loft Salon • Spa • Bar. In 2021, Danielle and Brittney took ownership of the Loft during Covid-19.
